The project comprised the partial refurbishment of the grade II* listed headquarters of the University of York to provide a suite of high quality multi-purpose function rooms serviced by a commercial quality kitchen, together with enabling works to permanently re-locate two administrative departments to other areas of the building, access for persons with disabilities and complete renewal of services with in the project areas.
The works had to be undertaken in prescribed sequential phases with noise restrictions during construction to ensure minimal disruption to the continued operation of all departments.
